Flexim Interim is looking to recruit a Sawmill Technician for one of its clients, who specialises in the manufacture of high quality bridges for all stringed instruments. 

1) TRANSFORMING THE RAW MATERIAL :

. CUTTING UP LOGS :

- The log is cut into logs with a chainsaw.

. SPLITTING LOGS :

- With a splitting machine, you split the logs into logs by following the wire.

- Depending on the height of the white wood available, you should allocate the logs to the family to be produced (violins/altos, cellos and double basses).

. SAWING LOGS :

- Using a band saw, you saw the logs following the grid as parallel as possible to obtain a corner corresponding to the family to be produced (violins, violas, cellos and double basses).

- You sort the corner according to its quality (high end or low end).

- You put the corner in a palox on which it identifies the supplier, the month and year of arrival, the family and the quality.

. SAWING CELLO AND DOUBLE BASS CORNERS :

- Using a band saw, you saw off the ends of the traced corners (bottom and head).

- Using a bandsaw equipped with a tilting table, you align the split face of the corner on the left side and the head in front, positioning it parallel to the blade.

- You saw the corner cutter by following the line precisely without ever going beyond it.

- You sort the scrap wood into recycling or waste.

. SAWING VIOLIN AND VIOLA CROWNS :

- Using a band saw, you cut rings according to the quality of the corner (high quality or low quality).

- You arrange the wreaths in the baskets and identify the batch according to supplier, month and year of arrival, family and quality.

2) DRAWING AND SAWING CELLO AND DOUBLE BASS PLATES:

. TRACING :

- Using a template, you draw the plates on the corner, optimising quality and quantity as much as possible.

. SAWING :

- Using a band saw equipped with a tilting table, you saw the corner boards that cannot be sawn by the automatic machine, following the line precisely without ever going over it.

- Using a band saw equipped with an automatic sawing carriage, you saw the inserts from the corner.

- You sort the wood scraps into recycling or waste.

- You arrange the wafers on combs and identify the batch according to supplier, month and year of arrival, family and quality.

3) DESEASE / TREAT / DRY:

. DESSEVER :

- You take the trolleys and baskets in and out of the dryers.

- You arrange the wafers and crowns in paloxes, identify the batch according to supplier, month and year of arrival, family and quality.

- You switch the dryers on and off.

. PROCESSING :

- You put the NT plates in the baskets.

- The baskets are stored in the processing tank by means of an electric hoist.

- You place the baskets, fill the water tank and add the treatment product.

- You turn the treatment on and off.

. SECHER :

- Using an electric hoist, you take the baskets out of the processing tank, place the wafers on combs and on the trolley.

- You take the trolleys in and out of the dryers.

- You arrange the wafers in pallets, identify the batch according to the supplier, the month and year of arrival, the family and the quality.

- You switch the dryers on and off.

4) SHARPENING BLADES :

. DISPLAY :

- With a wire brush and a sharpener you clean and sharpen band saw blades.

- You manage the monitoring of band saw blades.

5) TO COMPENSATE FOR THE ABSENCE OR SUB-DELEGATION OF HIS N+1:

- You organise the daily schedule.

- You run the morning point.

- You manage dips, dryers, containers and waste.

6) HANDLING (subject to the R489 3 or R482 F driver's licence) :

- You unload logs from trucks, supplies etc.

- You stack and store pallets, big bags, etc.

- You manage waste.

6-month assignment contract that can evolve into a long-term contract. 

Recommended profile for the position :

You should have experience in the field of carpentry.

However, we can train you in woodworking.
