The history of Positronic

Positronic Industries is a family-owned company established in the United States over 50 years ago that designs and supplies high reliability electrical connectors to customers worldwide.

Positronic has a strong international identity thanks to its 3 locations in the world (United States, France, and Singapore) and employs nearly 800 people worldwide. In January 2021, POSITRONIC joined the Amphenol Group.

Positronic Industries Auch, située à seulement une heure de Toulouse, développe, fabrique, assemble et distribue ses connecteurs à valeur ajoutée à des clients de la région EMEA (Europe, Moyen-Orient et Afrique), principalement issus des secteurs de l’aéronautique et de l’aérospatial.

30 years since the American firm was established in Auch

En Août 1992, les habitants d’Auch ont vu débarquer des Américains. La raison de leur venue était plus que positive. Jack Gentry, ancien pilote de chasse et fondateur de Positronic, décide de faire d’Auch le site européen de la firme. C’est dans la zone d’Engachies qu’il choisit d’installer l’usine qui aujourd’hui emploie plus de 90 salariés. Sur ce site sont fabriquées plus de 1000 références de produits et notamment des connecteurs que l’on retrouve dans les domaines Spatial, aéraunautique, médical, agricole et industriel. Positronic Group produit de par le monde 10 000 modèles de connecteurs différents pour un chiffre d’affaires annuel de 80 millions de dollars. Le site gersois pèse à lui seul 15 millions d’€. 

Positronic's objectives

This international company exports to Europe, Israel and Africa. The company is not content with the world, it is also aiming for space, and more specifically Mars. Indeed, some of the conductors were used in the manufacture of the robot sent to Mars and the international space station.
