The Ducs de Gascogne company was founded in 1953 in Gimont in the Gers, the stronghold of foie gras and French gastronomy. The founder, Gabriel Dubarry, wished to perpetuate a family tradition, that of eating well in the Gascon region, by offering authentic dishes prepared with care in his kitchens.
Regional specialities such as duck confit and cassoulet are available, as well as delicatessen products, but always in a spirit of craftsmanship and quality. Foie gras, the flagship product of the Ducs de Gascogne company, is often awarded at the Concours Général Agricole.
Since then, the company has diversified its product range by offering gourmet baskets for delivery, perfect for any occasion.
Ducs de Gascogne is aimed at both private individuals who wish to enjoy the flavours of the south-west and professionals who wish to thank their clients and partners with gourmet baskets.
Some twenty years after the creation of Ducs de Gascogne, Gabriel Dubarry passed the torch to his son, who took over the reins of the company in 1971. However, the soul of the company has remained intact. Pierre Dubarry has managed to perpetuate the authenticity of the preparations while adding his own personal touch. The handiwork remains the same, thus ensuring that the flavours of local gastronomy are carried even higher. Today, Ducs de Gascogne is the leader in traditional Gascon gastronomy.
While the inevitable foie gras and other terrines are still available, other products have been added to the catalogue. Prepared dishes, jams, but also wines and spirits, not forgetting the famous gourmet baskets that have helped to make Ducs de Gascogne so popular.
Under the management of Pierre Dubarry, the company had 75 employees, 240 sales outlets and 4 dedicated shops. Its turnover was 11 million euros. In 2017, Pierre decided to step down and pass the baton to Marie and Cyril Jollivet, two entrepreneurs who have a proven track record in developing a spirits business.
Their ambition is clear: to make the Gers-based Ducs de Gascogne a company with an international reputation. They also created a range of organic products called "Les Bio du Bocal". Today, Ducs de Gascogne is a brand that is present in around sixty countries and now has around one hundred employees. Every year, more than 500,000 gourmet baskets are sent out all over the world.
