It was in 1983 that this company was founded in Lézignan-Corbières under the name Glaçon des Corbières. At that time, its production was mainly focused on the production of artisanal ice creams which were then delivered to cafés, restaurants and hotels in the region.  

 

Didier and Sylvie Barral, the founders of the company, have preserved the traditional know-how that has made Glaçon des Corbières the leader in ice cream. After renaming the company Pôle Sud, the couple focused on development by expanding the workshops and opening relay workshops between Toulouse and Montpellier. Despite this evolution and the modernization of the manufacturing processes, the DNA of the company has remained intact: making quality ice cream in a traditional way.

Today, La Compagnie des Desserts has 3 sites in France, one in England and one in Barcelona. Each workshop has its own speciality: 

In Lézignan-Corbières, Pôle Sud makes homemade and made-to-measure ice cream, baba pastry, shortbread and French toast. In Gimont in the Gers, the workshop specialises in revisited pastries. In Roissy-en-France, there are specialists in chocolate mi-cuits, soufflés and made-to-measure products. In Barcelona, ice cream and frozen desserts are made. And in Manchester, the workshop produces Anglo-Saxon pastries.
